Genuine Ostrich leather is one of the most distinctive and unmistakable
leathers. It stands out with its bump pattern (nipples) created by the
quill follicles. The quills vary in size and patterning with a light
textured areas between the quills.
Ostrich is so beautiful,
extremely supple, rare and extraordinarily tough due the natural oils
which prevent cracking and from becoming stiff. This make ostrich as one
the finest leathers in the world. It is one of the most durable
leathers.
When laying out the collar and leash will include
quills and flat sections of the hides. This give the pieces a unique and
interesting patterning. I design all straps to have turn edges giving a
very clean edge and helping to make the collar and leash exceedingly
soft.

The "Geno" is named in honor of my Dad who taught me the fine art of leather craftsmanship and instilled in me the values I hold today, including the pleasure of having dogs in my life. He always had a pet name for my dogs such as "junkyard dog" for a little dog who resembled Toto from the Wizard of Oz who adopted us. One of his greatest pleasures was when we gave him his chocolate lab named " Mocha". He and Mocha would go to hospitals and nursing homes to entertain the elderly and infirmed. That is where you see the love a dog can spread. By the way - Mocha wears a custom "Geno" today and loves it.
