Genuine Ostrich leather is one of the most distinctive and unmistakable
leathers. It stands out with its bump pattern (nipples) created by the
quill follicles. The quills vary in size and patterning with a light
textured areas between the quills.
Ostrich is so beautiful,
extremely supple, rare and extraordinarily tough due the natural oils
which prevent cracking and from becoming stiff. This make ostrich as one
the finest leathers in the world. It is one of the most durable
leathers.
When laying out the collar and leash will include
quills and flat sections of the hides. This give the pieces a unique and
interesting patterning. I design all straps to have turn edges giving a
very clean edge and helping to make the collar and leash exceedingly
soft.

The Jasper classic dog collar is named for my black lab who was at home sailing in the ocean, fishing and crabbing, tubing and going to kids ball games, riding in the car with the top down, playing in the snow or going to work at the movie studio. Most of all he enjoyed his nose to the wind in "his" little Boston Whaler boat that we had to name it the Black Dog Taxi. It was Jasper that inspired this design to fit his active lifestyle , yet be stylish and fashionable for any occasion that arose. I use solid brass hardware and rivets because they will not rust in the salt water and designed the collar so that Jasper could swim and play on the beach and it would stand up. It stood up to all the tests and still looked great. Our collars are unique and truly a labor of love and that's why we guarantee our work 100%.
